Julián Simón’s adaptation to the Moto2 class has been admirable in the inaugural season of the new intermediate category, and the Spanish rider currently sits second in the Championship standings after 11 rounds.
Five podiums and further four top-10 results have landed the Mapfre Aspar rider 128 points so far, and in the attached video the 2009 125cc World Champion discusses how he first found the leap up to the new 600cc four-stroke format.
Simón also looks back on the decision to change to the Suter chassis after just two rounds, a switch which has paid dividends in terms of results, and looks ahead to the challenge that awaits at this weekend’s Gran Premio A-Style de Aragón.
