Smith makes final push before qualifying

The 125cc class were again greeted by a wet track on Saturday morning as they turned out for the final 40-minute practice before qualifying later in the day, and whilst conditions appeared slightly better than on day one there were still a number of crashes as the riders dealt with a track surface that still had some areas of standing water.
Bradley Smith again coped well with the conditions as he set the best time of the session with a lap of 2’02.047, which was almost two seconds off his top time from day one. The Bancaja Aspar rider was followed by Alberto Moncayo (Andalucia Cajasol), who was another rider to fare well on Friday, and the Brit’s Bancaja Aspar team-mate Nico Terol who had a fall towards the end of the session.
Completing the top six in the session were Sandro Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo), Danny Webb (Andalucia Cajasol) – who remains second fastest across all three sessions behind Smith thanks to his FP1 time – and Marcel Schrötter (Interwetten Honda 125).
Marc Márquez (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport), who could secure the 2010 title this weekend, again rode cautiously as he timed in 11th fastest at 3.122s off Smith with fellow title contender Pol Espargaró 12th and one of many to experience a crash during the session.
The wet conditions led to a series of falls for riders with Simone Grotzkyj (Fontana Racing), Tommaso Gabrielli (Ongetta Team), Marco Ravaioli (Lambretta Reparto Corse), Efrén Vázquez (Tuenti Racing), Sturla Fagerhaug (AirAsia - Sepang International Circuit Team), Esteve Rabat (Blusens-STX), Jakub Kornfeil (Racing Team Germany) and Khairuddin Zulfahmi (AirAsia - Sepang International Circuit Team) all going down.
