Lorenzo makes first run of Aragon on a Yamaha R1
Article from www.motogp.com:
Jorge Lorenzo visited the Motorland Aragón circuit today (Wednesday) to gain a first impression of the track which will host the 13th round of this season’s MotoGP World Championship.
The current Championship leader spent 80 minutes on track on a Yamaha R1 divided across two spells, the first beginning at 2.30pm local time and the second at 4.15pm, with both giving him a grounding on which he can base his preparations for the GP on September 19th.
After the session the 23 year-old gave a positive reaction, saying: “It is a fun circuit with very different turns. The first turns are similar to Turkey and others seem like Misano. I hope that people who live close to here come and support the Spanish riders. I’m looking forward to racing here.”
Lorenzo also discussed his role in helping with the development of the M1, which will become a more increased one following the announcement of Valentino Rossi’s departure for Ducati at the end of the current season.
“I don’t preoccupy myself with what people say. Now I have to be especially focused because as well as the fight for the Championship and building on what I have already achieved, I have to develop the bike,” he stated, before adding that he would not be relaxing going into the next round at Indianapolis despite his 77-point advantage at the top of the standings.
