The Moto2 class concluded its pre-season preparations with the third and final day of the Jerez Test on Sunday, where Stefan Bradl set the fastest lap of the entire Test.
The German rider posted an effort of 1’42.697 just after 1.30pm local time as the Moto2 riders sought to take as much as possible from Sunday, and Marc Márquez was the only rider to join Bradl under the 1’43” barrier. The Catalunya Caixa Repsol rider was the first to get under the marker with his time of 1’42.980, and it was an effort that eventually left the 2010 125cc World Champion in second position overall.
Yuki Takahashi enjoyed a productive Test and the Japanese rider of the Gresini Racing team ended Sunday third fastest with a best time of 1’43.338, with Tom Lüthi (1’43.435) and Simone Corsi (1’43.502) completing the top five on day three. The Ioda Racing team rider’s best lap from Saturday, a 1’43.046, earned him third position across the overall times behind Bradl and Márquez.
Completing the top ten on Sunday were Pons Racing rider Aleix Espargaró, Mapfre Aspar’s Julián Simón, British rider Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing), and Italians Michele Pirro (Gresini Racing) and Claudio Corti (Italtrans Racing). Bradley Smith (Tech 3 Racing) was 11th overall. Mapfre Aspar rider Javier Forés suffered a small fracture in his hand following a crash.
