Elias takes first steps with LCR Honda

Moto2 World Champion and new LCR Honda MotoGP Team rider Toni Elías got his first taste of working with the team as he rode the RC212V for 60 laps at Valencia on Tuesday. The Spaniard took a measured approach to becoming reacquainted with the 800cc premier class machine, and by the end of the day was the 16th fastest rider on track with a time of 1’35.058.

“This morning I was very excited to be back on a MotoGP machine. I missed the power and the sound of this bike but I have decided to take my time to adapt to the new machine and the team. This RC212V is different and I need more track time to find the right feeling. Surface conditions were not great today because of the rain and the dust due to the strong wind so I took my first laps cautiously. The first impression of the team is very positive: they are very organized and very friendly. There is still a lot of work to do together but I am confident we can find the right direction.”
