Enjoyable first run for Lorenzo

Jorge Lorenzo concluded the first day of the Gran Premio A-Style de Aragón in high spirits on Friday, having been quick in both practice sessions. The return to a three-practice format, each being 45 minutes, is being trialled this weekend and the Fiat Yamaha rider was happy to have had two separate runs on day one.
The morning session took place in dry conditions whilst the afternoon was a wet affair and Lorenzo, who was third fastest overall, was happy to have been able to take his M1 out in contrasting settings on the new addition to the 2010 World Championship calendar.
"I really like this track, it's so fun to ride and it is quite different, a new challenge. It is interesting to ride the M1 here after coming here on an R1,” said Lorenzo who tested at the track last month on a production bike. “We are lacking a bit of grip but I hope we can improve our setting more tomorrow so we can make another step. Unfortunately it rained this afternoon but it was good to get the chance to try our wet setting and it seems our bike was okay in these bad conditions.”
Commenting on the change in format to the arrangement of the weekend’s format Lorenzo, who leads the Championship by 63 points going into Round 13, gave a positive reaction.
“It was good to have two practice sessions today; even though the overall amount of time is the same over four days, four separate sessions makes it easier to get to know the circuit and what we need in order to be fast here,” he concluded.
