Nakamoto: no reply from Motegi
Article from http://www.gpone.com/index.php/en/slider/3101-motogp.html
The pit boxes are starting to come to life in Losail, with the preparations for tonight's test session. In fact some teams have already rolled out their bikes and started warming up the engines.
The chatter on pit lane is more or less similar to what has been heard for the past few years (not enough riders, not enough sponsors...), but big question remains: "will there be a race in Japan?"
At the moment, nobody seems to have an answer.
"I sent an email to the Motegi circuit, to understand what the situation is - HRC Honda's Shuei Nakamoto said - but I still haven't received any response."
"Sure, holding a rice this year seems particularly difficult - Livio Suppo added - but the Japanese are extremely organized and efficient. They could still manage it. Obviously this isn't a priority at the moment, and we certainly shouldn't go if we will only be causing more problems. The MotoGP race, however, could be a good occasion to send a strong message: life goes on."
The situation at home not withstanding, Honda must try and concentrate on the task at hand, which is a test they come into as favorites.
"It's true that we were very fast at Sepang - Nakamoto commented - but especially on a single, flying lap. Our competition isn't far off on race pace."
In just a few more hours we will know if Honda can maintain their superiority at a different venue, but in the meantime enjoy this brief video we made while driving to the circuit here in Qatar. A unique experience to say the least!
