Few riders ventured out onto the track in the final Superbike session, which was again hit by inclement weather, and it was Noriyuki Haga (PATA Racing Team Aprilia) who ended up on the top of the timesheets.
But the fastest rider over all three days at the Portimao test was Jakub Smrz (Team Effenbert - Liberty Racing). His 1'43.503 on the dry opening day was not beaten through the rest of the sessions, giving his Czech-based Ducati team a great start to life in WSBK racing.
Fastest man on Friday was Ruben Xaus (Castrol Honda), whose lap of 1'47.065 was recorded in a dry window between the rains, which came and went with great frequency, if little force.
In the overall three day rankings, Jonathan Rea (Castrol Honda) was second, and WSBK rookie Eugene Laverty (Yamaha World Superbike Team) third, with Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team Superbike) a confident fourth.
Carlos Checa (Althea Racing) filled the top five with World Champion Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia Racing Team) sixth, despite only taking to the track on the dry first day.
