Corsi assumes top spot on day two

The Moto2 class profited from a full day of testing at Jerez on Saturday thanks to better weather than day one, and by the close of the day Simone Corsi had set the fastest lap of the weekend so far. The Ioda Racing rider’s effort of 1’43.046 was posted in the Moto2-only session in the afternoon.
Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) was the second fastest Moto2 rider of the day with a time of 1’43. 069, set in the earlier combined session, and Tom Lüthi (Interwetten Paddock Moto2), Yuki Takahashi (Gresini Racing), Julián Simón (Mapfre Aspar) and Bradley Smith (Tech 3) all broke the 1’44” barrier during the combined session.
The Moto2 top ten for Saturday was completed by Jules Cluzel (Forward Racing), Mika Kallio (Marc VDS), Scott Redding (Marc VDS) and Alex de Angelis (JiR Moto2). Marc Márquez was 11th overall, and the Team Catalunya Caixa Repsol rider suffered a crash during the day which he escaped unharmed from. Takahashi also had a fall which resulted in no injury.
